Before the holidays arrive, give yourself some time to sit back and reflect on past holiday behavior. When thinking of your goals make sure they are specific to your needs. Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

1) Do you want to eat healthier food during the holidays?

- set a goal to find healthy alternatives that the whole family could enjoy!

2) Do you want to stay physically active?

- set a goal to take a walk every day and ask your family or friends if they want to join you!

3) Do you want to spend more quality time with your family and friends at gatherings?

- set a goal to keep your phone in a different room and maybe play some games with those you care most for!

YOUR GOALS CAN BE RELATED TO NUTRITION CAN BE RELATED TO NUTRITION, PHYSICAL FITNESS, FAMILY, MONEY, AND MUCH MORE. WE AS INDIVIDUALS HAVE DIFFERENT GOALS, BUT IF WE MAKE THEM S.M.A.R.T. GOALS WE CAN FIND SUCCESS IN WINNING THE HOLIDAYS THIS SEASON!

Specific

Your goals should be concise and very direct, avoid using vague goals. Instead, make a specific set of goals!

Measurable

Your specific goals must be measurable, so you can keep track of your progress and success!

Attainable

Having goals that are reasonable and achievable will give you self-confidence because you know you can achieve them!

Relevant

It’s the holidays, so be sure to make goals that are specifically focused on your behaviors during the holidays!

Time-stamped

The holidays only happen for a short period of time throughout the year so make sure you can achieve them in the right amount of time!

Once you have your goals, be sure to write them down so you can hold yourself accountable. Writing down your goals will also help you stay committed! You can record the goals in a notebook, a piece of paper in a common living space, your phone or anywhere else you will be constantly reminded of your goals.
